Haagen Dazs Light Products
Previously, Haagen Dazs translated into really good, fat-laden ice cream. But now there is the slimmed-down Haagen Dazs Light. What's "lost" is half the fat. Labels show that they have 60 to 90 fewer calories per half-cup than their regular versions, and less than half the fat.
What that means in terms of calories varies with each flavor. The label on Cherry Fudge Truffle notes that it contains 50-percent less fat and 14-percent fewer calories than regular super-premium ice cream. A 1/2-cup serving of that flavor contains 230 calories and 7 grams of fat.
Consumer reports did a review of Haagen Daz Light and had this to say: "If our tasters hadn't conducted side-by-side tests, they might have thought some flavors were full fat. In fact, they were fooled into thinking the lower-fat coffee and dulce de leche caramel were the regular versions."
There are seven flavors:
- Vanilla Bean
- Dutch Chocolate
- Coffee
- Dulce de Leche
- Mint Chip
- S'Mores
- Cherry Fudge Chocolate
