Aloe Vera Helping The Heart

One of the most important health challenges of our time is the preventing of hardening of the arteries. Hardening of the arteries is one of the major consequences of aging. If you use aloe vera gel, then you may be doing yourself a huge favor in terms of your cardiovascular health. Very likely you are increasing the viscosity of your blood at the cellular level. You're increasing its ability to carry oxygen, and to diffuse that oxygen into the organs in your body.

Benefits the Circulatory System

Because of the aloe, Aloeride® can benefit the circulatory system. Aloe lowers triglycerides and LDL or the "bad cholesterol" and raises HDL the "good cholesterol". Several studies have shown when aloe is added to the diet, symptoms and signs of coronary artery disease disappeared. The people in the study never developed heart problems. The same studies noted patients were able to discontinue their prescriptions of the pills they had taken the in past for chest pain, blood pressure and blood sugar control.

When the coronary arteries are blocked, blood no longer flows freely; it will sludge through the arteries. With physical exertion the heart muscle needs more oxygen. When it request for more oxygen and blood is not delivered, a heart muscle is damaged and it dies. When the heart muscles dies, it is called a heart attack. If the right muscle of the heart dies, the person will die instantly.

Delivers More Oxygen

Aloe vera helps to deliver oxygen more efficiently to the organs in the body that need oxygen to stay alive, most notably the brain and the heart. This has been well proven, and in fact aloe vera extract is now a part of a first aid medical product that is being marketed to the U.S. military for precisely this purpose.

A study done in 1985 before the information regarding aloe vera and Aloeride® was known used 5,000 people with acknowledged coronary artery disease and angina pectoris, which is chest pain on physical exertion, which indicates a lake of circulation of blood to the heart muscles, were fed with aloe vera added to their diet. The results were no more signs of angina pectoris, no development of lethal heart attacks and prescription drugs were no longer needed to control symptoms, but didn’t cure them.

Prevention of atheromatous heart disease.

Five thousand patients of atheromatous heart disease, presented as angina pectoris, were studied over a period of five years. After adding aloe vera to the diet, a marked reduction in total serum cholesterol, serum triglycerides, fasting and post prandial blood sugar level in diabetic patients, total lipids and also increase in HDL were noted. Simultaneously the clinical profile of these patients showed reduction in the frequency of anginal attacks and gradually, the drugs, like verapamil, nifedipine, beta-blockers and nitrates, were tapered. The patients, most benefitted, were diabetics (without adding any anti-diabetic drug). The exact mechanism of the action of the above two substances is not known, but it appears, that probably they act by their high fiber contents. Both these substances need further evaluation. The most interesting aspect of the study was that no untoward side effect was noted and all the five thousand patients are surviving till date. (Ref: Angiology. 1985 Aug;36(8):485-92. )

Aloe vera has the ability to reduce platelet stickiness and decrease the inflammation caused by microvascular injury. It reduces the build up and can even reverse the hardening of the arteries as well as prevent it.
